The psychoanalysis and the «others» discourses

Abstract

In a lecture in Milan in 1967 Lacan draws a difference between Psychoanalysis and other discourses in terms of what such discourses do about reality and the real. This can be linked with C. Soler’s claim that at present we live in an era marked by traumas inflicted by the fragility of discourses and the high frequency with which the outward forms where they rest are broken. Both Lacan’s lecture and Freud’s address in Budapest allow us to conceive psychoanalyst’s stance when faced by the failure of therapeutical technologies and today’s concerns.
